After checking the Model 36 thread I had to post...

5 or 6 years ago I ran into a Friend of mine at a local gun show..He was at a dealer's table wanting to make a trade for one of those New "Wonder 9's".
I saw that He had His old Model 37 up for trading material. I got Him to leave the dealer's table area long enough to offer Him $10.00 more than the dealer offered for the old '37'

Well, I took that Model 37 home that day for $160.00 cash..

Fast forward to a couple of months ago--This same friend requested that I sell Him back the 37, for His Wife, who could not operate the slide anymore on Her semi-auto EDC.
Well, long story short..She now has the "Old 37" back in their Family as Her EDC..Bill..

Kind of you to sell it back. I'd have a very difficult time parting with any of my old S&W revolvers.

Well done sir; extremely understanding and thoughtful of you to help your friend's wife.

When dealing with guns sold to family and friends I also like to include the right of first refusal should the other party ever decide to sell or trade the gun you sold them. That way you can keep the peace with everyone and get an old "friend" back as well.

Yeah you did a good thing there. Like Wishoot above I also would have a very difficult parting ways with any of my older S&W revolvers, especially my pinned models. I would have probably offered one of my other revolvers such as a Model 637, 638 or 438 or 442 and a couple boxes of ammo like Hornady Critical Defense Lite which shoot real nice, at least for me, out of those revolvers but if you and the other party are happy that's all that counts.
I don't have a pinned Model 37 the aluminum version of the Model 36. Every one I have come across in the last five or six years had some type of condition issue. During one of our group meets a few years back a new member had nice pinned model on the range table and saw that I was giving it the once over. Was going to make him an offer for it until I saw him running +P's through it later that morning. It rattled like a sewing machine. I'm confident I'll get lucky one day. The hunt is part of the fun anyway.
