I upgraded from the 22A S&W to the Model 41 for the league shoots. I have been informed that there is a rear sight from a "Dr.Optic" that can be put on the 41 without much fuss. Anyone here know about this sight system and if so does it work well?

Can't answer your question about that sight but my M41 barrel is drilled and tapped for Weaver scope base, so it is easy to mount an EER pistol scope on the M41. I got tired of changing back and forth so bought a second 5.5" barrel. Mounted the 2X EER Leupold scope on one barrel and left iron sights on the other barrel. Now I can switch back and forth in just a few seconds and both barrels retain their zero. Makes a very nice combo.

Good shooting and be safe.

I have a Docter sight atop the .22 long rifle slide for my Kimber model 1911. If that's the one you're thinking of, it's a good dot sight, but definitely not a better dot sight than the traditional tube type. It was horrendously expensive. The price tag didn't include the base. The base specified for the slide didn't fit, so I incurred additional gunsmithing expenses. The only way to turn the sight off is to push on the cover. The horizontal and vertical adjustments have no clicks, and require the use of a micrscopic screw driver and a little plastic gadget. It's definitely light, but my next match pistol is going to wear an Ultra Dot: http://www.ultradotusa.com/ud_home.html
