I bought what I thought was a "pre model 10" from a guy off the internet. Well in one way it is but not what i was hoping for will someone please confirm what I have for me?
I think it is a model 1905 -4th change
There is no "Made in" on the frame
The barrel has US patents listed on the top of the barrel
5 screw model
ser. 3068xx and there is a star after the serial number
Smooth trigger
Notch rear sight
Square butt
S&W medallion in the grips and diamond around screw
The gun has normal holster wear on the barrel but would probably rate in the low 80's
I was looking at page 139 in the third edition of Mr. Supica's book
