Who here has or carries a 3" S&W model 60 in .357 Magnum? I've got a little 624 1-7/8ths inch hammerless as a pocket/belly/backup gun. I think a 3" model 60 would be an interesting belt gun.

I'd replace the rear sight with my C&S fixed rear, since I've not yet found a use for it. I think that perhaps 3" is a better barrel length for a .357.

(I really wish S&W made a 3" 686+ instead of the 2.5")

I have a 3" model 60 that I carry IWB at work where concealment is an absolute must. I really like the 3 inch barrel which is why I bought the model 60, and I've about got it set up like I want it now. It has a gold bead front sight ( couldn't find decent night sights for the model 60), round butt S&W service grips with a Tyler t-grip adapter, chamfered chambers, crowned muzzle, smoooooooth as silk action job, bobbed hammer, polished and radiused trigger with a 10 pound pull. The more I shoot this gun the more I like it. The only downside is trying to find a good holster for it....I have a custom one on order but it will be at least a couple of months until he can make it (it seems that 3" model 60 blanks are difficult to find too). For now it rides in a Don Hume PCCH holster which is only fair at best, but I can make do with it until my custom one arrives.

As for the 3" model 686, Smith & Wesson did make some at one time....at least there are some in the forum picture threads.

I used to conceal a pre-agreement model 60 all the time. It's a dandy little gun. I'd still carry it, but I've lately switched to a pre-agreement model 629 .44 magnum, carried concealed, indifferently concealed, and openly. When I want to be discreet, I still carry the little five-shooter.

I have a S&W 60-15, 3" barrel, 5 shot 357mag, stainless, adjustable sights. The holster is a Bianchi 7/7L (actually for a Ruger SP-101), the revolver is accurate and carries well and high in the pancake holster.
If I had to do again I would look hard at the Ruger SP-101 with 3" barrel but feel the S&W is okay.

I have the 36-6 3 inch adjustable sight "kit gun" I have carried it alot in the field and it has been a BUG on several occaisions. 95 % of the time I shoot 140 DEWC out of it with the other getting some 129gr. +P Hydra shocks. The DEWC are only loaded to about 875 FPS but will take small game with ease. Only thing i have shot it at is a Mutt that was inside the calving pen at the father in laws, I would have put the dog at about 90 pounds, two shots, both in the chest, dog made it to the fence line, and dropped.
