I have a S&W model 10-8 (heavy barrel) with a sqaure frame. I need to modify by frame cause I bought the Jerry Mikulec grips and it has a whole in the front to fit the frame. I called them up and they said they can convert my sqaure frame to a round frame If I want, but I thought maybe I can just round off this area my self. Its the bottom of the grip on the trigger guard side. I want to round it off.

Any concerns here? It's just a 38 and I can't imagine that this area gets a lot of stress.

Thanks in advance.

Round butting a K Frame

You could convert your square butt to a round butt, so your grips will fit.
Brownells used to sell a jig that was the S&W Round butt dimention. To use it,you just grind and file to it. Not all that hard. If this modification meets your needs, don't worry about value. This will be a working gun, ment to be valued as a shooter, not a collectable.
