Has anyone ever taken a stock (in this case a bell and carlson xcr tactical and stiffened the fore-end? This is a fibreglass stock that is known to have too much flex in the front for shooting off a bipod. (see for example here)

I was planning on using a milling machine to remove the foam filler from the fore end and then glass in a carbon fibre arrow shaft or similar, fill any voids with foam and glass over the top of the barrel channel to finish. Anyone tried this? do you think it would work?

I haven't tried it on a Bell & Carlson, but have done it on wood stocks.

But yes it will work, as long as you have good epoxy bond to the existing fiberglass shell & CF arrow shaft.

If it is just epoxied into the foam it won't do much of anything.
