Owing to the strong interest in reloading, spurred-on by prices and political climate, we are holding a free reloading clinic/exhibition at the Monadnock Rod & Gun Club on Route 202W (595 Jaffrey Rd.) on the Jaffrey-Peterborough line.

There will be several types of reloading equipment on display, along with rifle/pistol/shotshell loading.

We are planning on displaying .223 (small rifle) loading on a single-stage RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme, and possibly on a progressive press too. .45 ACP on a Dillon 650 progressive (plus other calibers most likely ...9 Luger or .380). And 12 gauge shotshell. There will be several types and manufacture of presses available for your perusal.

There will be several examples of reloading equipment types and brands both on display, and in use.

This will be both exhibition and hands-on (as much as time and availability will allow). The steps from cleaning brass, lubing, resizing, trimming, priming, charging, seating, etc. There will be several miscellaneous pieces of associated equipment and calibers present ...some to see and some to touch.

Varieties (and conditions) of brass and bullets will also be on display.

As things progress, I will update this thread accordingly.

Club Members who are gunsmiths/manufacturers, and just plain old well-experienced handloaders will be there to answer questions and help beginners and the experienced alike.

There will be materials and discount certificates there from manufacturers. Along with video giveaways and running videos to aid the beginning reloader.

The event is rain or shine, held outdoors under our large main pavilion. We will add canopy/tent coverage as necessary.

While this is a fairly informal event, we take safety seriously. Anyone who has experienced the firing of an over-charged cartridge, or a primed uncharged cartridge (squib-load) is well-aware of the potential for disaster when the correct and precise steps involved in reloading are ignored. Reloading can be a rewarding and fun activity and save you both money and increase your loads' accuracy/consistency. But all of that is for naught if you don't concentrate on the basic steps.

We are not selling any reloading equipment or supplies at this event, it's just for educational purposes. That said, if you have any reloading equipment that you'd like to trade or sell, then feel free to do so. NOTE: On August 1st, we are holding a Flea Market, primarily of sportman's goods ....camping/shooting/archery/fishing equipment. Please contact us regarding that date if you have old goods to sell:

Greetings,

Holy cow. I climbed that mountain every weekend for 5 years when I lived in NH....

What a funny thing to see. I was on top in 55 minutes BTW... :neener:

Thank you

It's a bit far for me, but perhaps you could ship a 1000 or so of your finished work, so I can make sure I've got it right? A nice mix of 9 & 45, thank you. :D

Definitely a popular climb. I myself have climbed it a couple of dozen times. I would have climbed it more over the last decade, but my recently deceased Black Lab was not welcome (no dogs, so I stuck to Pack Monadnock, and pieces of the Appalachian ...Mt. Watatic to Temple MT.

Stone Mountain for you now ;)

Hmmm ...well, we're toying with the idea of letting folks shoot what they load (a few cartridges perhaps) ...probably of .223 from one of the Member's firearms. Other than those freebies ...we're keeping the lead and brass on Club grounds.

We have a Member who is a manufacturer and gunsmith ...tons of wildcat stuff. One of his (donated) creations is being raffled off by the Club.

He creates some fun things. :)

Greetings,

I did pack Monadnock too a few times. it is down the 101 near Peterborough (pass Berlin) if I remember well.

Do you know the guy who has been climbing it each day since something 20 years? He has a white beard and is thin like a nail. We met him a few times. He does the climb cold, hot, snow, rain.

BTW, if you go by the side trail , the one from the other road you take North west Keene that goes to Concord I think (Is it the 12???), near the US army engineer thing (Otterbrook???? the names are fuzzy in my mind now), you can go with your dog because no one will notice...

Thank you
