Hey Guys,

I was wondering if you guys could give me some info on the Montana Gold bullets. I know that alot of guys are using them and i just like to see how they are. I've been on the Montana site and they don't give much info on the bullet them self. The price seems to be pretty good and they always seem to have them in stock. I like the shipping price too.
I use the .40 165gr. and the .45 230 gr. jacketed bullets alot using Titegroup, Unique, and Bullseye.

Thanks Guys

They have lots of different bullets available: Plated, fmj, hollow point, cast lead. I've only used fmj, and they are outstanding. Along with Zero, they are one of the best for consistent seating.

I shot a 4" 20 shot group rapid fire at 100m with 230 gr FMJ Montana Gold bullets in a heavy barrelled 45acp converted Turkish Mauser.

That was much better that the other bullets I tried.

Had good luck with MG bullets in 9MM; others liked their .40 and .45 products.

Several MG 38 special lots were undersized by 2-3 thousands and they were unable to replace with correctly sized product. I was not impressed with customer service skills. When the problem came up they used high pressure tactics, suggested that I don't know how to use a micrometer (on undersized lot only), sent tough worded emails, etc. I don't buy from MG any more - Remington sells perfect JHP's for just a few more $. For plated bullets I use XtremeBullets (formerly West Coast).

I've had good luck with both their .45 230 grn FMJ (open base) in a gov't model, and their 250 grn FMJ in a .45 blackhawk.

I have gone through 2000 124gr jhp and just recieved an order of 115gr cmj. I love montana gold bullets, the more you buy the more you save. My latest batch was a group order with some buddies. Fast shipping, good quality bullets great product! Kinda cool with a different color bullet also.

Thanks guys for all your great post's. Great Info. Going to order me some tomorrow.

If your ever up in that area of Montana, stop in there. They sell seconds, they wont ship them you have to purchase there. I cant see any difference or why there seconds, they load and shoot just fine. The price? Very good.

Sounds great Mt Shooter but i live in New Jersey. I always wanted to visit Montana. I just might have to the way things are going in N.J. . Ammo is getting hard to find.

Thanks for the info.

My last run of 9mm was with the MG 124FMJ for USPSA and Steel Plates. Very happy with loads produced using their bullets. The gold color of their bullets makes your handloads look great.

I ran through a lot of them for my 9mm before Academy started selling Blazers for $3.86 a box. I'll start buying them again when I've depleted my stock of Blazers.

I used a lot of their 185gr JHP and 200gr FP in my 1911's before switching to cast bullets.

Montana Gold hasa great product at a good price, IMHO.

I bought some Montana Gold for my Smith 610.

Great bullets. Gotta get of my rear end and order some more.
