I was being semi-flip or whatever. I agree that Moose is a prime example of incompetence rewarded . I also agree that we should leave his wife out of it.

I would expect that we would remain free to find humor in her comparisons, maybe even more. Who knows? We can only speculate on her motives. I understand that she too is educated, so there could be something that we do not know.

Oh, I suspect that we know all that we need to know about Ms. Moose's education. She opted to play the race card...what a surprise. Now that she has chosen to compare her husband to other advocates of more prominent stature, no matter their ideologies or accomplishments, she has entered an arena which not only opens herself and her husband to critical examination but demands it.

Chief Moose is a glaring example of the consequences of hiring, not on performance, but on mindset. Never mind his incompetence, his inability to converse in simple English, his willingness...his insistence...that he profit in spite of the rules of his employment agreement. The inevitable conclusion is that he cannot be bothered to follow that which the commonfolk are obligated to follow.

The chief and his wife are public figures; that they are objects of scorn for their statements and mindsets is no affront to the process.

The strategy seems clear:

Moose should resign, offer his book to the critical acclaim of the public, and plan to cash-in on any effort that the Hollyweird crowd would be likely to make on behalf of his "brilliant" leadership.

And happily, even concerning that crowd, actions have consequences...

Why do I pay attention to Montgomery County doings?

I like watching what goes on in Montgomery County MD and Fairfax County VA because for decades they've led the way in social programs and spending - locally, regionally and often nationally - although not always in the right direction. It's the old know your enemy thing. Montgomery used to be the wealthiest, but Fairfax has overtaken them. Locationwise, MC is immediately north of D.C. and Fairfax is west.

FWIW, little or nothing probably, many years ago I regularly saw a bumper sticker in Richmond. Background: Chesterfield County is adjacent to the city on the south side and is the land of expansive growth and opportunity - suburbia. The sticker said:

Don't Fairfax Chesterfield.
