I figure this technically would be a "Rifle" Thread even though it's really handgun centric. Of course the mods can move it.:)

I'm a fan of the XD40. I'm aware of commercial uppers that fit 1911s and Glocks that convert your pistol into a pistol caliber carbine. I'm also aware of things like the Kel Tec carbine that takes your pistol magazines.

I'm not aware of any such thing for the XD series, but I'm curious if it exists or not.

My only motivation for finding out is morbid curiousity. I'm not seriously looking to make any sort of purchase.

What the heck would I do with this? I don't know. Shoot it maybe?:p
 
Eh, if popularity was the determining factor I think it'd be out already. Granted I've had my XD a little longer than most XD owners and there aren't that many owners of the original HS2000 I think it was called, but these things are everywhere.

Then again, you could justifiably call the XD market a piece of the Glock market, and it's not like the carbines using the Glock magazines are flying off the shelves.

I think gun companies just make things at random. Any manufacturer at any given time introduces or makes something that very few people have any sort of use for, and cancels something everyone wants.
