we've got two
I think they are fantastic

practice with the .22, same manual of arms and then just do occasional practice with the .45ACP

Was this about the same price as a 45.? The review says $650. I have thought about getting a 22. conversion unit for my 1911's.
The only down side is I have never seen one in person.

I paid right around $500/$550 for mine 2 years ago (3 or 4 mags came with it)

I think they run in that $500 range.
Mine aren't conversions, they are .22LR only.

I just got mine the other day and I paid over $700.00 for it with the 3 extra clips.
The problem with 22 conversions is a lot of times you end up with accuracy troubles and they cost a lot to.
If you want the feel of a full size .45 1911 but don't want to shell out big money to shoot, then this Kimber is the gun for the job.

I bought one when they first came out, it's a pretty looking thing, but the safety would not stay put, so I traded it in on another pistol. Admittedly it was only for fun and plinking, but not a real sub for a 1911 training, too light. Also seemed very "fragile", would've liked something more robust. But it was a fun plinker.

I was at Gander a couple of years back and a Beretta Neos with the 7.5 inch barrel followed me home.
Easy takedown, easy barrel swaps. I LOVE THAT FRIGGIN THING!!!! Talk about a tack driver. I have never had not one single jam in it. Through 1000's of rounds. I have also introduced two new females to shooting and they liked it so much they bought one. My 6 and 8 year old daughters shoot it well also. It has nice solid feel to it.
