What would be the reason for that? Is there some local code that would make it illegal? Just curious, never seen that here and I know 4 dealers that won't hold a firearm past the required time on a delay.

Personal comfort level of the FFL I guess.

For a long while I was being delayed as a norm, so I soon found another FFL.
Then strangely enough one day I was no longer being delayed. Go figure.

First and foremost, we need to stop referring to them as "Universal". They will only be universal when they apply to everyone, including criminals.

Good point.

So why not just have everyone apply for a BC one time with a renewal every five years like a CC permit. Sure would save gun owners a lot of time and money if they are transferring 5 guns a year and paying $25-$50 for a BC every time they transfer. I'm convinced that some of these UBC proposals aren't really aimed at reducing nut jobs from getting guns but more about putting a financial burden on gun owners. The net result being reduced sales, transfers and manufacturing.

How long does it take a trooper to run your DL and plates? Here it's about 2 minutes because they scan your DL and plates. They also get a bunch of info that you don't even know about.

I still maintain it would be easier to just keep the people who are too dangerous to own firearms locked up. That should be the standard for when you can get out of prison.

I haven't seen answers to the gist of BingoFuel's questions.
What is the objection to the concept of an anonymous point of sale check that has no possibility of creating a backdoor to registration/tracking or other government poking about in what isn't its business?

What is the objection?

Seriously?

-We shouldn't have to pay money to transfer property
-We shouldn't require government permission to transfer property
-We shouldn't be restricted to transferring property only during the working hours of a local business
-We shouldn't have to travel to a specific business just to transfer property
