Check this out! In India, because factory made guns are too expensive, therefore harder to get, criminals prefer simple single shot pistols because of how cheap they are on the black market. Because they are so cheap, they pretty much throw them away if they every used it on someone.

And the price for the gun in USD is $38 (1500 INR) if you were wondering.

So how are those gun laws working out there. Looks like they are failing big time.

Kind of comforting to know that such crude, simple, albeit effective arms are such a bewilderment to an organized and heavily armed government that's law enforcement methods are rumored to be quite cruel and sadistic. Not even tyranny can stop the production of guns it seems. China has its own illegal gun making problem too.

If they can withstand shooting the rifle cartridge they were putting in there even once, then yeah I would agree that they looked pretty well made. Was a .303 Enfield they were putting there? That seems like a stout round for such a small pistol!

They are, keep in mind that $35 gun is still plenty expensive.

The average monthly wage in India is $135/mo. That means that gun costs just about 1/4th of his monthly wages.

That's like the average US person buying a new browning hi-power (about $800 would be our cost equivalent compread to what $35 is to an Indian).

The $35 bit was some alarmist spiel thrown in by their media to make it sound super cheap. 1500 rupees is a lot of money over there. When making 5 guns a month is enough to live the average life out there, people have time to make a quality piece.

According to this article, the guns they make take "no special skills", only take 4 hours to build (for them of course) and that you are less likely to survive from a gun shot wound from this gun (compared to a pistol using pistol caliber ammunition) because it uses rifle ammunition.
