They are now using Democracy as an excuse for "gun control"

Listen closely to this interview where this religious person says that because we can't have gun control, we can't have a democracy due to fear. I hate to break it to them, but minority viewpoints don't have the most say in a Democracy, it's the most combined voices that win the majority in a Democracy. Since the large majority of Americans aren't in favor of gun control (to my knowledge), there's no way she can possibly make sense.

Are they going to ever run out of ridiculous stuff to say???

That's fine since we're a gosh darn REPUBLIC.

A Constitutional Republic to be more exact

Yes, you are correct !

It is amazing that many people don't know the differences. They think that 51% means they can do anything they want to the 49% left.

I don't mind ignorance, but determined defense of it, is intolerable.

What's really amazing is the fact that we constantly hear newscasters and politicians refer to our form of government as a democracy when as you pointed out, it's no such thing. This is a petty irritant of mine.

Nothing "petty" about it. IF the citizenry had been demanding 'accuracy' all along.....we wouldn't be dealing with this now.

What she has said really irritates me. This suggest that the ownership of an object capable of relieving one from life is against religious teachings. I have a lot of things in my house not gun related that would match such criteria.
To say that a firearm of certain design intended only for killing is sinful and should not have place in religious homes, that's fine I suppose. Mine was not designed for such reasons, mine was designed to protect my home. Of course nothing is off limits in the political realm, not even the manipulation of religion.
Thank God we live in a Constitutional Republic, for as long as we can keep it.

Life is the greatest gift from God and we are supposed to protect it. Just because we gather together to form and strengthen communities and FEEL safe does not mean that we are safe. When we become complacent and do not prepare for the unexpected that is exactly when the bad stuff happens and people look back and say we didn't think this would happen here. And religious leaders are, or should be, aware of the many example of organized governments encroaching on religious freedoms. It is the 2nd Amendment that acts as protection for that freedom. It is shocking how many people don't live in reality, either by choice or ignorance.

We are a republic, not a democracy - so fortunately the mob cannot rule.
