When AB 350 was just about to come up in the PRK again, I wrote to several of their senators to express my feelings on the subject. Yea, yea - I don't live on the left coast. But a fight's a fight - right? That said - I may have been a tot too sneaky. I wrote from my work address, and I work for a company who's HQ is in the PRK. :)

Anyway - thus far, all email I've received back has been from the guys who get it. Makes sense I suppose ... my original email to them didn't really do a very good job of hiding which side I'm on.

This one just came in from Senator Poochigian. While we all knew it wouldn't be, the senator has made it clear that the issue is far from dead and may come up again this Winter. Lets not forget what a narrow margin this bill was defeated with the last time around.

Thank you for contacting my office to convey your opposition to Assembly Bill 352 (Koretz) relating to firearm microstamping. I appreciate knowing of your views and having the opportunity to update you on the status of this legislation.

AB 352 failed passage in the full Senate on September 6 by a vote of 20-19; however, the bill has been granted reconsideration and may be taken up for further action when the Legislature re-convenes in January. I voted in opposition to this bill when it came before me. If you are interested, you may access the status, votes, bill text and analyses on this and other legislation from my Senate home page at http://republican.sen.ca.gov/web/14/.

Again, thank you for taking the time to write. Please feel free to communicate with me in the future on other issues of interest.

Sincerely,

Charles S. Poochigian

Gentlemen -

It's all one cause. I guarantee you that I'm not the only one from the US that's been writing your government.

Please ... save your salutes for Senator Poochigian and the rest of them who get it, and voted the right way. We need to make sure they know we feel they've done the right thing, and that we want them to continue doing it.
