Hi all, got a quick question about Mosin Nagants for the enthusiasts out there. I'm looking for something that I can shoot at the local club's service rifle matches, maybe do some varmint hunting as well, and also just to bang around with at the shooting range. AIM Surplus has the 91/30 Mosin Nagants for $90 or so (if you add the $10 for a hand picked rifle), and from what I've read those guns are built like tanks and just don't break. So what I would love to know is...
1) Does anyone here have this gun, and would they recommend or not recommend it?
2) Does anyone have experience shopping with AIM, and what was the rifle like that they received (I don't need a beauty queen rifle, but something covered in dings, rust, and enough cosmoline to suffocate a horse is not what I have in mind either)? Condition of the bore and rifling?
3) Will an online firearms shop send the rifle to my local FFL even if my name isn't on the paper? The way the website has worded the buying guide, it sounds like you need to be the one with the FFL.
Edited to add: is interordnance any better or different than AIM?
Thanks very much and have a great Thanksgiving!
