Mosin ammo with strippers!

The "T" ones are Tikka. I've got a BUNCH of them, and never had a problem. They do seem to take more effort to work with my M44. My feeling is that the Finns used these with the older, squarer version of the clip slot, and the slot of the M44 is just not machined or cast as tightly, which lets the clip slop around.

What type of ammo is this? Checked the site and didn't see it. Is it brass case or somwething else? What bullet weight and origin is it?

the Tikka's are known to be the best. but theres reports of counterfeir Tikkas out there. maybe you got some of those?

I just looked at their ammunition page and couldn't find any 7.62x54R at all. I guess they sold out quick.

Or they haven't listed it, or it didn't get updated. All I saw was some of the 80s Russian stuff, I'm going to call Tuesday and find out.

Bought a tin of this...

At a local show I picked up one can of this ammunition. It was a square can painted green, with black lettering. The actual ammunition is brass cased Bulgarian and the stripper clips are steel. The packaging denotes '50's manufacture. The stripper clips are $2 each here, but this is still a good deal. Unfortunately I don't think much of this particular lot of ammunition (on the stripper clips) is available.

Hosed!!!!!

The ammo came, I opened the box with glee, shook the sheet metal case inside, and heard...loose shells? Short story, no strippers, and the ammo was bundled in twenty packs that were disintegrating. No real identifying marks on the outside, so i couldn't even tell which country they came from. CAlled SOG:cuss:, and they offered a 5.00! discount if I wanted to keep it, or would let me return it and even pay the return shipping. :fire:I returned it. Knew it was too good to be true. :banghead:

Sorry but there would be NO WAY I would pay for return shipping because they didn't send the product that they said they were sending. I would have called the Credit Card company and put in a complaint. Since they would lose payment I'm sure they would have sent you a pre-paid return label if they wanted their product back.

*EDIT* Thanks fireflyfather, I misread his post and thought they wanted him to pay return Shipping.

The only 54R strippers I will get anymore are the ones with the "T" for Tikka stamp on them and the special springs on each end. I've been using a few dozen I picked up a year or so ago from Tapco and they're fantastic. Tickbite appears to have some. Buy them, and horde them.
