Range report: I've now seen not one, but two people with clamp-on muzzle brakes on their Mosins at the range. Both of them went downrange within the first 20 rounds out of the rifle. In both cases, the mounting hardware (screw or bolt) broke.
It was kind of funny because I was talking to the second guy and told him that my buddy had one of those muzzle brakes, but it shot off after a dozen rounds or so. Three shots in and his flew off.
Don't know if it's common knowledge here or not yet, I didn't see anything in the first page or so of the search results. Just thought I'd try to save someone $20 or so.
