VERY nice rifle. I scored a 1942 Sako. The stock has a couple of storage dings, but she'll be fine in a few weeks, after a little TLC. This is a very nice rifle, indeed. If anyone is on the bubble on this one, tip to the historic side......C&R guys, bite the bullet and buy it.

Bore is shiney, rifling is sharp, trigger is spongy, but light, and sights seem useable. I can tell already, the stock will be great. These are VERY fine rifles. If you think they're a typical Russian built rifle, you need to change the opinion. Swiss K31's, are exceptional, but have nothing over these beauties. I'd nearly call it a draw....

Pics to follow later.

What grade was it, jame?

AIM's range from $180-350 + up. They don't put pix of their lower grades... WG&A does. Both co's. are great, though.

I'm happy with the one I got too. They rock.

Mine is the shooter grade. As far as I can tell, the numbres do not match, and it's soaked in cosmoline, but, with the exception of a little bit of light surface rust, the metal is fine.

You don't get to buy this much quality for this little money very often, again except for the K31. In my mind, the M39 has the advantage.

Why? Cheap, available ammo. I can actially shoot it without a heart to heart with my checkbook.

Well of course they are good craftsmanship being the last of its kind.
The M39 was the last real mosin-nagant variant that was made in Finland.
The Mansner sight alone in the rifle did cost over 400$ in present day money.
Almost all have been used during wartime or in conscript training/obligatory refreshers around 1945-1970's.
I hope you are not planning to make any dramatic changes to "ukko-pekka's"
appearance.. afterall its a piece of living history.
