Mosin Nagant groups at 85 yards. Pics!

Hi folks!

Always before I had shot my Soviet Mosin M91/30 prone or offhand. Today I rested it on a pile of shale at 85 yards on my private shooting range. This was the results. I am very happy with my Mosin!http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/35015_227999057338010_1383750302_n.jpg

That's pretty good! People ask me all the time if my M44 is accurate. My response is always, " yeah, it's minute of grapefruit."

Mine is a little better than that, but grapefruits are still fun to shoot! I shot a 4 inch clay with my Mosin. It pretty much evaporated.

85 yards just seems so strange. I've never been to a range that had an 85 yard course. 75, yeah, 85, no.

It's my own range and it doesn't have a 85 yard marker. Thats just where the pile of shale was.

No I have 100 yards. But I didn't have a rest at 100.

nice shootin, what ammo? w/10 shot groups mine shoots minute of 2 grape fruits at 100y w/cheap surplus ammo and a 20lb trigger pull regardless just something about shooting these old school rifles

I was using cheap surplus ammo. And no I won't trade mosins with you.

So was I here. A Finn Captured, SA stamped barrel, 91-30. 5 Rounds of that wicked green lacquered Czech milsurp, at fifty yards. (About the best my old eyes will do without optics)

Is that a Finn rifle? Usually the Finn rifles have a dark stock like that. Finn rifles tend to be more accurate. I am a Finn rifle junkie so i should know...chris3

I shot some more to-day. I didn't shoot as well, the best group was 3 inches. But it was really windy to-day.

I used to fancy myself a pretty good shot. That you can shoot a M/N like that says more about your skills than it does about the accuracy of the rifle.
