Has anyone bought and used these safety rings for the Mosin Nagant?
How are they made.Welded, screwed or what? Would be a great item to have
if they hold up with continued use.

When I hunt with one of my Mosins, I will leave the bolt open and close it only when preparing to make the shot. The Mosin safety is fairly useless when wearing gloves.

The ring is just welded on. Pretty much just as indestructible as the rifle. Never cared for modifying Mosins, though... Guess I'm a stickler for historical accuracy, even if they did make tens of millions.

Learn to operate the MN safety correctly and they are no problem. Hint, let the weight of the rifle do the hard work for you.

With one hand, grasp the safety knob securely while exerting a twisting motion to the right. With the other hand, forcefully and rapidly shove the rifle forward, the safety will then go on. To take safety off, reverse knob twisting motion while repeating shoving rifle forward. Its so easy even a Russian peasant could do it.

It can also be easily be operated while shouldered. Just pull the rifle into your shoulder makes it much easier to pull and twist the knob. That's how I do it.

Chamber a round and don't close the bolt until game is in sight.

It makes no noise, and is safer then running around cocked and locked with a hard to operate safety.
