Many MN owners protect them from the corrosive primers by squirting a bit of Windex or soapy water, or using it on patches, as soon as they finish shooting, especially in humid air. Some directions with my rifles recommend Windex.
If not, the chemical deposits in the barrel's bore attract moisture and this will corrode the bore.
It's a very simple inconvenience for shooting much more ammo for the price of non-corr. ammo.
For a large number of us, it is an easy decision to reach.
