So I took my M44 carbine out shooting and when I came home to clean it I found the detailed crack in the stock. I am by no means a woodworker but hope that I can handle this repair on my own. I'm trying to do as little as possible and not harm the original finish more than I have to. Please let me know your opinions on the best way to tackle this.

The first pic shows the end of the crack and the second how far up the stock it's going. Thanks.

Aww you broke it! Throw it away. Nah use the Hot Stuff or I use Zap-A-Gap you can find at craft stores. Glued alot of stocks and stuff with it. Once you get it glued you can get a can of shellac and spray a coat or two over the stock and it will blend in. Or you can just fine brush some over where it flacked off. If you spray it the new shellac will melt into the coat thats on it. Good luck.
