Score! I picked up a Mosin Nagant Model 38 today at our annual gun club meeting. It's an Izhevsk '44 with matching number on the bolt, receiver and floorplate. The wood is pretty and the finish is near 100%. Bore looks good, and will probably better after a good cleaning. It has the older, more subdued, Century import stamp and it has not be reserialized like so many rifles are now. The stock is a true 38 stock and not a M-44 stock.
I paid $80 for the rifle, with sling and dog collars, and 100 rounds of ammo.
I'll post pics later.
