mossberg 185 d-b question.

I have a 20 gauge Mossberg 185 d/b bolt gun for varmints, real handy but after I fire it it ejects the magazine a little ways, and wont pick up the second shell unless I hold it in,which aint no big deal really,just thought someone might know if its the magazine catch or the magazine. I found some nos mag catches thought bout ordering one.maybe a new mag.just thought I would fix the old girl.

First Things First Look At Your Mag And catch. There should be nice flat surfaces which mate to lock the mag in place. If they are rounded you probably have your culprit. If they don't seem rounded then put a piece of felt or wadded paper behind the mag catch to support it and give stiffer tension. If that solves your issue it's the spring.

put a piece of leather I trimmed to fit behind the finger release/spring,like you said,worked like a charm. just shot it ,feedin fine .. thanks..
