Mossberg 20 guage

Hi guys,
Looking for info on the Mossberg 185k-A.
Just got one for my daughter and I could use some information such as location of serial #s and when they produced.
I've looked on the barrel and receiver and can't find any numbers at all.

some older shotguns do not have serial numbers

Any firearm that does have a serial # must be placed in the action/frame. Every Mossberg I have in stock has the serial# on the left side of the frame center-bottom. If the serial# is not on the action, It is not on the gun. As advised, some older shotguns do not have serial#s

My son inherited an old Mossberg bolt-action 16 gauge from my wife's father; no serial number (as it pre-dated the GCA of 1968). My late father's old Stevens model 630 and my old Stevens model 940 (I think) also bear no serial numbers.
