shot tens of thousands of rounds through one. plenty of jams, but easy to deal with. a good gun for a kid in a messed up way because it'll teach them to clear jams and diagnose issues.

I'm a Mossberg fan, but the Plinkster...it is what it is, let's face it.

Had one for about 3 years, shoots just fine.

Can't recall but a few jams with mine, and that was with some Federal Eagle .22 that I bought in 1994.

can be very hit or miss in reliability; i do like the adjustable rear site, though.
total copy of the marlin mod 60, so get the origional.

Bought one as my first firearm a few months after turning 18. Ive put thousands of rounds through it. It has a few malfunctions here and there, almost always due to cheap bulk ammo not being the right length, and Ive had some issues with the aftermarket OEM magazines not feeding right without some break-in, but its been very accurate, very durable, and very fun, especially concidering I only paid $110 for it.

Why not get one?

I bought the bolt action version as my first purchased long gun when I turned 18 also eventually I gave it away once the bolt retainer or whatever it might be called quit holding it in everytime you pulled the bolt back probably an easy fix but I got a 10/22 and my friend didn't have a gun so I gave it to him.

It is a magazine fed version of a Marlin Model 60 of slightly less quality and slightly less price. Mine has been good and pretty damn accurate for what it cost me ($100 on sale at Dick's Sporting Goods). On the stoppages front, I only get them with bulk pack stuff. Even with bulk pack, I may get a one stoppage every 30-40 rounds, using Federal Blue bulk ammo. When I shoot CCI Stingers or mini mags it runs 100% thus far. In total I have probably around 18-20K through it and it still works good.

One thing I did notice though, at least in mine, is that it does not like to be cleaned very often. Just after a cleaning, the accuracy would suffer big time. So I changed my cleaning schedule to cleaning just the bolt and receiver every 1000-1500 rounds. The barrel has not been cleaned in at least 10k rounds and it is still as accurate as I can be.

Magazines are not very easy to come by so whenever you see them, buy at least two. I only have about 5 magazines for it and they are really simple to maintain. No lube (or maybe a VERY LIGHT lube) in them though or your stoppages will increase. I learned that lesson within the first 5k rounds of its life.

Edit: Forgot to add that it will get extremely dirty, really fast and shoot very inaccurately with Remington Golden bullets so avoid them. The best bulk pack performance I have gotten was the Winchester 3x3 and Federal blue box bulk. It will shoot the Federal red box stuff, but not very reliably. Just like any other .22LR gun, you will have to find what works best in your gun.
