Mossberg 500 modified chokevs accu choke

Im looking at ebay to purchese a skeet/trap barrel for my 500 shotgun. I see some marked "modified choke" and others marked "accu choke" whats the difference?

Assuming the seller knows the difference?

A Modified choke marked barrel would be a fixed choke in Modified.

And "Accu Choke" barrel uses interchangeable choke tubes so you can use whatever choke tube the conditions dictate.

If the seller doesn't kow the differance, it could be an Accu-Choke barrel with a modified choke tube in it.

If you plan on shooting skeet AND trap you will want the barrel with choke tubes; use a skeet constriction (.005) for skeet and a Modified (.020) or tighter for trap

You should also determine if you want a ventilated rib on the barrel. There are older barrels out there without ribs. Some people like ribs others don't. Your money your choice.
