Picked up a ossberg 500 today with a factory 38 inch barrel with full choke, just trying to find some inforation on these, haven't been able to find much other than they were produced for a short time in the late 80's. Any information would be much appreciated.

    thanks,

If you put a net on the end of the barrel you'll be able to catch your targets and save on shells :D

Never saw one, but I'm guessing it was aimed (pun intended) to the goose hunters

perhaps he meant 28"....I have a 28" model 500 country squire. It's a good looking shotgun and a good shooter too.

It is 38 inch 3-8inch factory bbl. I figured maybe aimed towards goose hunters just never seen one before so i had to pick it up.

overall the shotgun is about 5' 7" long deffinately not a good shotgun to swing but suprisingly light

i would imagine that kind of length would make it easier to swing once its moving...that kind of momentum will keep you from trying to stop on a moving target

but even that 38 incher aint got nuthin on this bad boy lol

Well, if you find you dont use it much you could always stick it in your front garden with a flag on the end of it :)
