I have searched high and low for information regarding the Mossberg 695 and it is scarce. I picked one up about five or six years ago after wanting a slug gun for a long time. I shot it and was rather impressed however a year later i got a Browning A-bolt and the Mossberg started collecting dust. Well with the huge appreciation of the A-bolt i couldn't resist selling it for a "pretty penny". So over the past two years i have been working on getting the 695 to be a shooter. I already mounted some quality Leupold glass on it, had the trigger worked on, put a bipod on it, etc. Now i love this gun, it will shoot .25" better groups at a hundred yards than my A-bolt ever did. (1.6" groups at 100 yards) However my one big complaint is the junk stock that comes with it. Putting looks aside the injection molded stock that comes with it is far too flexible for a slug gun. So this is where my question comes in i have narrowed my choices down to 2 and was hoping for some experienced feedback. On one hand i could bed and float the existing stock. This would stiffen up the stock and make it more usable however being an injection molded stock it could prove to be quite the PITA. My second option is getting a wood stock i have searched high and low and only found a couple custom wooden stocks for the 695 and they are all too expensive for my taste. So does anyone know if with a little work the stock from a similar gun like the mossberg 395 would fit. Anyone with experience with the 695, bedding injection molded stocks or upgrading the stock please chime in . Thanks

Having looked into this when I owned my 695 I see no reason a 395 stock could not be modified to fit with very little work.

Contact Vic or Cheryl Havlin at Havlin Sales for more info and probably be able to fix you up with a stock.
They list the synthetic stock as a replacement for 395-495-595-695 and may or may not have wood stocks on hand, they are catch as catch can. HTH
