I want a semi auto, mostly for turkey, but also for just fun. I would no doubt shoot mostly 2 3/4 shells. Would the 935 have cycling issues with high brass 2 3/4 stuff? As it may also used for rabbit hunting from time to time. Am I gaining anything else from the 935? I like the 22inch barrel 935. 2nd place is the 24 inch 930.

Thanks in advance

According to Mossberg the 935 is designed to function with 1.25 oz 1250 fps 2.75" loads or heavier. It is great as a dedicated waterfowl gun, but for general use I would go with the 930.

I'm waiting for the different versions of the 940. I want one with the 18" to 20" barrel. It sounds like it will be a winner!

I have a 930 JM PRO (3 gun) and a regular 930 with a 28" barrel and a turkey barrel. I'm really happy with them.

Almost all 3.5” semi-autos will cycle 1 1/8 oz loads which is what most loads for dove are. The 935 will not be two inches shorter than the 930 because it has a longer receiver. I personally have no use for 3.5” shells but if I did would save up and purchase a Browning, Remington or Ithaca semi-auto 10 gauge.

With advances in shot such as TSS a 20 gauge works great for turkey so I really don’t see the need for a 3.5 “ 12 gauge. The recoil can also be brutal.
