Anyone on here had experiences with this 12 bore, good or bad ?.

Love how he makes them run, looking at buying one now.

Model 930 JM if your not familiar.

I don't have one, no real need, but they're decent shotguns with fantastic ergos like my 500 and 535 pumps, tang safety is the way for a lefty like me. I put a left hand safety on my Winchester 1400, cost me a bit, but it's better now. A tang safety is what I prefer, though. A friend has a 930 (fellow waterfowler) and his runs flawlessly with steel shot loads. Coincidentally, he's also a lefty. :D

The JM model has no place in my gun safe, though, as it's not a sporting arm. I'm not into tactical games. But, I'd not expect it to run any different than my buddy's 930. All the Mossbergs I've tried lack drop at comb and I shim the stocks for fit. Mossberg offers shim kits, but I just use plastic cut from pop bottles or milk jugs.

Just some thoughts, know it doesn't directly concern the JM model.

Jerry's name might be on the gun, but it is not the same as the one he use's.

I doubt that anyone can get within 10 feet of the guns he use's, they are a far cry from the production stuff sold to the general public!

Interesting that if you watch the video of JM's advertisement that Mossberg puts on their website (follow Fred Fuller's link), JM is wearing his standard "Team S&W" shirt.
Funny to see him pimping for one gun company while simultaneously wearing the clothing from his other gun company sponsor.

I prefer the Duck Dynasty model myself.

It matches with 50% of Wal Marts entire inventory, which makes up most of the products in my house.

Interesting, so when you go to the Yamaha dealer and look at the R1s, you expect them to be mechanically identical to Valentino Rossi's MotoGP bike?

At a match this weekend I saw 2 go down in my squad. They were Unmodded. Several people at the match disscussed the problems they had with the same guns.

@Chaser 2332

AND = why did they go down ?.

This is what I want to know BEFORE mine has a problem.

I only own about a dozen 12 bores [ ok,a 16 and a 20 too ] and this is a "social" gun as I see it.

Possibly a boar gun for up close work.

And (in his video) verbally endorsing CTD... :D

A guys gotta do what he's gotta do to make a living.

Tom Knapp was pimping Mossbergs, while shooting Benellies on his 'Trick Shot' TV show appearances before his untimely death.

I know a guy at a big gun range that has a bunch of these, longer barrels though, and they have had a world of problems. Mostly the carriers have been cracking or breaking, the hammers on two of them peened so badly that the bolt wouldn't slide over them, the trigger housing has broken on many of them too. I don't remember all of the problems but, they have 14 of them and 12 had major parts replaced before 1000 rounds were put through them.

I've got several thousand round through my similar 930 Rythym model with zero issues shooting 3 gun, I know 2 others shooting the Miculek models and neither has had a problem in 2 years. I love mine but with the 28" barrel an 12 round mag tube it is, needless to say, next to useless as an HD gun.

I currently use a Benelli M2 tactical as my HD shotgun but would have no issue using the Miculek model with the 20" barrel.

I have a 930 JM Pro (9 shot).

I had some problems with it not releasing the next round out of the magazine tube when shooting expensive high velocity slugs, which saw it go back to Mossberg twice. I'm not entirely sure if this problem could be attributed to the heavy recoil and relatively light magazine spring, a rough shell catch, or something else.

After I got it back the last time, I tried out some cheap low velocity slugs and those ran perfectly. Since I'm just using it for local 3 gun matches, this will work very well.

I've had zero problems with birdshot though it and that's probably in the 800 round neighborhood.

3 other friends that I regularly shoot with have the exact same model and have no problems of any kind.

I just got one, took it completely down cleaned and lightly oiled it. There is a ton of info on Brian Enos site, but everything I've read said that if you keep the piston and rings clean you should be good to go. When taking it down take the rings off and clean them very well. I put 100 rounds of federal bird shot thru it from walmart, and about 30 remington full peeress slugs mixed in the mag tube, no issues think I had one fail to eject with bird shot. Seems pretty reliable, and it shoots pretty soft. I am confident that it will be a good shooter for a club level 3 gunner, another note is the slugs shot high like 5 inches at 25 yds.

@ Tonytor 58

THANK YOU = that was the kind of input I was looking for.

I will do as you suggest when it gets here.

And I plan on giving it a REAL break in with at least 100 + rounds, then try to see how it shoots.

I have the 22" barrel incoming.

Scatty mines the 22" 9 shot and even though I have only put about 200 rounds thru it mostly walmart bird shot federal. It is a fun shooting gun and was pretty dirty from the factory so strip it down and clean those rings well. Although it is my first semi I had a little trouble during reassembly, the plunger that goes over the trigger spring fell out and I put it back together and no trigger pull. Took me about 3 hours to find that thing! So make sure you don't let it fall out or if it does make sure you keep your eye out! It has been pretty fun so far, the trigger housing seems pretty cheap (alloy) it kind of rattles after putting it back in, also watch your thumb when loading it it will bite you.

AGAIN @ Tonytor

THANK YOU,great stuff as I will be doing as you suggested and total breakdown & cleaning prior to shooting.

And thank you to Destructo too as I want to see what mine is made of ?.

Destructor, my mistake it is aluminum but feels kinda like polymer with the wrinkle paint on it. Love the gun so far, good gun for the money.
