Okay so I've been in the market for a new varmint/predator/target etc etc... rifle for a while now. I wanted to stay with .223 mainly due to ammo availability and price, and the fact that I have other .223 platforms to share it with (AR's) I really thought I had it narrowed down to the Savage Model 25 LWT VAR .223 DBM or the Remington 700 VTR .223.

Now my dilemma...I have just recently stumbled across the Mossberg MVP and I absolutely love the look of it.(I have not handled one) I know this a fairly new rifle but I'm curious if any of you have experience with the MVP.

Thanks,
-Chuck

I got out and shot mine the other day, (Last Wed). I started with XM855 62gr steel core. the rifle does not like that so well and seems to almost have a wandering zero with it. The 1-9 twist seems partial to lighter rounds. 55 and 52 gr shot wonderfully out the gun and shot good groups for a friend of my brothers we got frustrated and couldn't figure out what the problem was with grouping.
My bottom line lesson for the day was that bulk ammo sux the rifle is wonderful. I just need to get over to my brothers house and have him teach me about reloading. I really need better consistency from the ammunition than Lake City XM855 offers.
Detonics nice review let us know how the ZMax shoots

I need to buy one, simply because I said for the longest time that id buy the first 223 bolt action that took AR mags....... Love the concept, now I just need to put my money where my mouth was.....

Id love to see a scout rifle concept made out of this though.
