Year ago, before I knew better, I got a Mossberg 590. Well, it has all the swing and balance of a boat oar. And yes, I bought a bunch of cheap black plastic crap for it too. Young and dumb.

Anyway, the gun is back to stock. But I would really like a 500 size gun. It looks to me that if I bought a 500 tube, folwer spring, and barrel I should be all set.

What have I missed? Are there any differences between the two models I don't know?

Thanks

Joe

By the time you buy all that you'll be coming close to the price of a good used 500.

That would be my only advice is to just buy another gun instead.

He's right, if you'r willing to spend the money on a mossy you might as well buy a remington. I have had my remington 870 for 16 years, i use it for hunting and skeet shooting and have never had a problem with it.

Or you can just stick with the Mossbergs if you like 'em. ;)
(went from a Remington to a Mossberg, and am still happy with the differences)

I use my 870 express for duck and turkey hunting because its the gun I'm not worried about getting it dirty, or dropped in water or mud. It's not the best balanced gun in the world or the prettiest but it has never once failed to go bang.

Thanks guy.

I awread have the 590.

A new mag tube is 35 bucks and 500 barrels are a dime a dozen. They come with a long and a shot barrel. Either one would be fine with me. I think I could go this for around $70 bucks.

I just wanted to know if the back end of the shotguns (where they attach to the receiver) were the same.

Thanks

Joe
