Read an article on that new auto mossy is putting out. Supposedly this thing only shoots 3 or 3.5 shells. It won't shoot 2 3/4 inch shells of any variety. Suggested retail is $470. Am I missing something or is this a really, really silly move on Mossy's part?

Mossberg's autos have had some bad turns. Some had to be bought back by them, IIRC.

Neither SBEs nor Extremas are intended for light loads, though many function well except for the feather loads.

IMO, these may be intended as special purpose/dedicated waterfowlers and turkey guns. Whether they, A, prove to be good shotguns and B, sell to a market with the 391, Gold, X-2, 11-87, etc is mere conjecture now.

Dave,
Your are correct that most 3.5 inch guns won't cycle loads less than 1 1/8 loads. This 935 won't cycle any 2 3/4 inch shells, none what-so-ever. Dedicated is right. So much for practicing with your waterfowl/turkey gun in the off season. The report I read stated they only had "a few" problems in 5 boxes of 3 and 3.5 inch shells, which doesn't leave me opitimistic. Sounds like a Jamomatic. Maybe its me but this one seems like a poor marketing decision on mossburgs part.

But then I am the guy who got up three times last night to pack things he needed for a crow hunting trip this morning, got to the first stand an hour from home and realized that he had grabbed the wrong case (only two to change from and they are completely different) and had a useless gun. (10/22 with no sights and ammo). Yep, its been a long day. But I did go 6/7 (missed the first bird) with my buddies A-5 so at least I shot good when I did shoot.
