What is the most accurate 7.62x39 bullet? I'm looking at euro-cal stuff, i.e., .310" and .311", NOT .308". There's plenty of FMJ and soft point out there, but I was hoping there would be a quality OTM bullet or even a HP but I can't find any. I'd appreciate a link on where to buy them too. Many thanks...

I've had good luck with both the standard Sierra and Hornady 123gr-125gr stuff. The Sierra PH 125gr in particular has given me plenty of MOA-to-subMOA joy...

Your rifle will decide what it likes best, but with my CZ, I have had the best luck with the Hornady FMJ in terms of accuracy, and close on its heels is the Hornady SP, which I use for hunting. Remington and Winchester bullets were significantly less accurate. H335 showed a little better accuracy than AA1680, but with slightly lower velocities.

All bullets were bought from www.midwayusa.com.

.311 you say...

I'm shooting home rolled .308's in my Mini 30 with tremendous accuracy (for the rifle - not MOA).

Try Nosler BT's and H4198. If you can find a BT in .311, you will no doubt like it. H4198 gives me the highest velocity with the lowest pressure. I am also loading a 150g bullet with amazing results. You'll like the way they fly - straight and true.

As to off the shelf stuff, You're on your own. I've never bought any, so I can't be of help there.

Good luck.

I bought some bulk FMJ .311 diameter Winchester bullets a long time ago (probably from Midway USA). They turned out to be quite accurate. My kid liked to shoot an SKS so I had him load up a few. I was quite amazed that the gun could do, as I recall, 1.5 to 2 inch 5 shot groups off the bench at 100 yards with iron sites.

For me Hornady 123 Gr. SP so far Sub 1/2" groups at 50 Yards with iron sight if I do my part. Second best is Speer .311 150 SP Sub 3/4 " at same yardage out of my YUGO SKS I havea few other bullets I plan on workingwith when I have time from Sierra in 125 & 150 Gr. offerings. A thread I posted on reloading for my SKS http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=304599

my Mini-30 (with .310 bore) shows a preference for 150 gr. slugs but I'm still working on loads, I have had good luck with .308 bullets. the .310 Win. 123 gr. SP shoots well but I don't trust it on deer-sized game. one I shot to fill a doe tag came apart. I just got some of Hronady's 310. 125 gr to try.
