Of all the manufacturers of Carbines that you may have fired or observed, which do you think are the most accurate? Keeping in mind that many of them are "mixmasters" so go by receiver. label.

Production percentages were as follows:

Inland div. General Motors - 43%
Winchester - 13.5%
Underwood - 8.9%
Saginaw div. General Motors - 8.5%
National Postal Meter - 6.8%
Quality hardware - 5.9%
IBM - 5.7%
Standard Products - - 4%
Rock-Ola - 3.7%

Right now I only have 2. An Inland with Inland barrel and a Saginaw S'G' with a Buffalo Arms barrel. The S'G' shoots better as of last Friday after I fixed the lockup in th estock and worked on the front sight. Groups about 3" at 100yards. Wind was so bad both were right about 6-8" at 100 yards. I have owned others but never shot them off a bench.

As an asside I have always wondered why it wasn't broken down further into Saginaw SG and Saginaw S'G. If it were there would be less S'G' made than Rockola

An unanswerable question. The carbine was no target rifle; the accuracy spec was 4" at 100 yards and, since they were only spot tested I suspect many would not have met that. Plus the bullet shape was not optimal for accuracy.

I have never seen any comparison of accuracy by manufacturer, and I doubt I ever will. Even if one carbine of each make were tested, the result would apply only to that carbine, not to all of that make.

I have an Inland carbine, with Inland barrel. Its accuracy is pretty good with Winchester ammo. I consider it shoots better than me... :)

I think they probably have about the same accuracy.

I've had maybe a half dozen examples. I have to go with my winchester . It shoots Remington ammo into 3" at 100 all day long if I do my part. I haven't seen another do this and this is why it is a KEEPER! It rides behind the seat in my motor home and I prefer it to slaughter livestock..

Of the two M1 carbines that I have (Rock Ola and Standard Arms) the Rockola is the more accurate of the two. However if we include my M2 Inland then the Inland is the most accurate.
