Dear Henry Dealers,
By popular demand, we are excited to announce to you a large transition in our product line to include side loading gates on all steel-framed centerfire lever-action rifles and shotguns that did not already have this feature. Additionally, we are announcing 3 new extensions of our H015 Single Shot lineup with new calibers and configurations.

With this announcement, we are officially discontinuing the "legacy" models that these new upgraded models are replacing. Any open orders that we have for the legacy models from our wholesale distributors are being closed and new orders will need to be placed through your distributor(s) for the upgraded versions.

These new models are shipping now and are available through your preferred Henry distributor.

I guess Henry has retained me as their new PR agent????

You may have received an email earlier today announcing a slew of new products to our Henry Dealers. We planned on officially announcing these on Wednesday, but the cat is out of the bag now!
By popular demand, we are excited to announce a total of 29 new models to include side loading gates on all of our steel-framed centerfire lever-action rifles and shotguns and 3 new Single Shots. You ask, and we listen. We take a lot of pride in making your dream guns come true, and it's clear that we may have done just that due to the overwhelming response from the first email. In fact, the initial response was so overwhelming it broke our website. Let's try this again!

Whether you prefer the hard-working All-Weather finish, the rustic Color Case Hardening, or the more subdued Blued steel, we now offer all of these finishes in every caliber and configuration with a side loading gate and our standard removable tube magazine.

For the Steel Single Shot Rifle, we're pleased to now offer both .350 Legend and .450 Bushmaster to give you even more options when you choose to Hunt With A Henry.

Live in a shotgun-only state? Now we've got you covered with a dedicated Slug Barrel 12 Gauge Single Shot featuring full rifling and fiber optic sights.

These new models are starting to ship now and we're excited for you to get your hands on them! While our announcement didn't go quite as planned, we hope you all enjoy these new models and we look forward to bringing you even more very soon.

Funny thing is that my son is getting these same emails. In fact, he texted me in the morning about the changes and I saw my version of the email later in the day.

I always kinda liked the tube loading idea on the Henrys. My first response to this was thinking "If I wanted a side-loader I'd just get a Marlin" but then I remembered Remington/Marlin is gone now so I guess it's a good move for them :).

Still, since I already DO have a Marlin lever gun if I were to get a Henry I'd probably opt for the gold (Brass?) receiver guns with the tube loader.

It's a nice option but they should continue the slab sided originals too. I've got a h010 (45-70) I got a few years ago and love it. For a gun like that 5 is a good number and rounds can always be dropped in the ejection port if more are required .
I really like Henry and a few models are on my list.
I wonder if this increases or decreases the value of the front load only models . My guess is decrease but maybe they'll become a collector type thing. Time will tell.

no offense, but what does that have to do with what I said? The Henry magazine tube is an abomination in its current configuration. You added a King's gate, great, now finish the job and ditch the tube loading. It's ugly and unnecessary. IMO.

I don’t think theres ever been a .22 LR with a side loading gate. Maybe never any rimfire with loading gate??

Most .22LR ammo’s heel based bullet cant handle that much pressure from the side.

Early Marlin 1891 was a gate loading .22 but they soon changed to slip tube loading for the rest of the model run and on into the 1892 and 39.

Colt Lightning .22 had a novel rear loading tube magazine.

The original Marlin 39 had a loading gate for the 22 rimfire round but it was found to be impractical and the tube loading system was adopted. However, for a centerfire rifle tube loading is toyish. With Ruger now promising to return Marlin to production, I will wait for the new Marlin rifles.

I'm sure this has been in the works for a while as you don't change production in a week or over night. Timing is everything though. Good timing to get a jump before Ruger starts churning out Marlins.
