I have recently decided on an AR I am going to buy and have been looking for a good optic. All the high quality American scopes cost as much as the AR I am looking at. I see that kalinka optics has Russian made military scopes for under 300 and was wondering if anyone had ever put a POSP on an AR? They have weaver style mounts and could be mounted onto an AR without modification.

I know that these scopes are very good quality cause I have owned several in the past and they are very clear and hold zero very well. So do y'all think I should mount evil commie made crap on my home town American made piece of craftsmanship?

...

I want to see what that looks like. It sounds wrong...but I cannot fault the POSP. They come with weaver mounts?

[edit:]

Found one...not sure of power, but definitely Russian. Not bad...

They have some on their site with weaver mounts, I say go for it. They also have some pretty sweet red-dots that you could probably make work too.

I plan on getting several AR's and at least one will have a Kalinka red dot on it.

Which red dot? Kalinka is a distributor, they do not make optics.

The prices on russian optics has gone way up in recent years. The majority of the red dots on Kalinka are priced the same or more than an eotech. I can see no reason to buy one over an eotech or aimpoint. I went with an eotech on my kalashnikov because of the price and lack of durability of the russian red dots. Also, if you are doing this because you think they tough because they are russian made, they are generally not very rugged (look up the plethora of durability issues with the Kobra sights).
