I want to attach a Magpul MS3 sling to my AR15 so I need a sling swivel for the MOE stock. I've seen the IWC Mount-n-Slot which looks great, just not sure as to its quality. Anyone have one?

Are there any other options for a swivel mount for the MOE stock? It seems like Magpul makes a QD swivel kit for rifle and fixed carbine stocks only, not the telescoping carbine stock I have.

Also, if anyone can recommend or denounce a QD swivel that'd be great.

You dont need a swivel, just feed the sling directly through one of the sling cutouts in the stock. Thats how I have mine installed, works exactly like its supposed to.

I don't actually have my MS3 yet. It will actually fit through the slits in the MOE stock? I got the hooked version.

The hooked MS3 is designed to go to one of the "Receiver End Plate" style sling mounts. They go between the lower and castle nut on the receiver extension. There are several kinds out there, but Magpul offers one that is designed for that sling.

To get Magpul's advertised functionality out of the MS3, you'll also need something towards the front it can hook to.

You simply remove the rear hook/extension, then thread the sling through the stock hole. Here's a pic of mine.

Oh, I see. Thanks Jackal. By the way, I like your set-up.

Thanks, it started out as a $599 Waffen Werks AK74, after some serious online shopping, its now a very handy night time coyote popper with the 830 lumen Jetbeam and Aimpoint. Arent credit cards great?:D

I haven't used the mount-n-slot because I use a QD stud end plate. If you don't want to switch to use an end plate with a sling mount your options are to get the mount-n-slot or switch to another stock with a built in QD stud.

That defeats the purpose of the MS3, because you have it installed backwards, and you've removed the means of rapidly transitioning between a two point and single point. As pictured you have a very expensive conventional two point sling.

It is 2 point and yes, it still adjusts quickly and it is in fact installed the correct direction for 2 point use, muzzle down front carry. This setup also allows for rapid transition to back carry. It was $24 on Ebay, which I do not consider expensive. I do not like single point slings.

$24 on eBay tells me that you have a MagPul PTS MS2 sling, and not a MagPul MS2 sling. The difference is that the PTS items are made in China, designed for use on airsoft guns, and not recommended for use on actual firearms.

That aside, the MagPul slings are designed to rapidly transition between two point and single point without fully removing the sling from the rifle. Hence, if you're not going to use the single point functionality there are much better two point slings. So, if the OP wants an MS3 sling, it's bad advice to tell him to attach it in a way that prevents it from being used as intended. If he wants a two point sling the best advice is to make aware of the above, and help him find a better two point sling.

It is indeed the genuine Magpul Dynamics MS2. Believe it or not, good deals indeed can be had.:neener: If the OP indeed wants a single point sling, then I agree, QD mounts FTW. If he doesnt want or need the single point option, then basic install like mine is fine. I personally liked my VTAC sling setup better for 2 point, but the Magpul is ok. I like being able to muzzle down front carry, then with a tug, tighten it up for muzzle up back carry.

Well there is a reason they abandoned the MS2. There were a lot of quality issues.

If one wants a two point sling I would get something like the blue force Vickers Sling. I like the MS3 because it can be used as a single point with the added function of going to a two point. I wouldn't get it unless I primarily wanted a single point sling though.
