I am going to buy an FA Cugir M10-762 and am trying to figure out all of my mounting options. I would also like to keep the mount under $70.00-ish. I've seen photos of UGT's AK mount and owned a BP-02 (for my PSl-54C only and never an AKM), but I an quite unfamiliar with other options. I will be dedicating this rifle to running optics and I am not concerned with being able to use iron sights while having a scope mounted. So, basically, what I am asking: What side rail mount can I use for my M10-762 that will give me the best bang for my buck, be solid, and sit as low as possible. If you guys have pics of any of your mounts that you'll be recommending, please, feel free to post pictures. Thanks in advance for any replies.

For a side rail mount, my favorite is the RS AKM mount. It is a 30mm ring mount that puts the optic as low as possible. That is actually the only receiver mount I would consider.

I use two mounts to mount scopes on my AK's. The first is UTG 5th gen w quick release. It is (relatively) lightweight, well built and seems to not loose zero when removed. I also have a BP-02 that was designed for the AK and made in Belarus. This this is rock solid and built like a tank. I picked up the UTG for ~$30 and the BP-02 costs twice that. I think both do a good job and it really depends on what you want to spend.

if your strictly gonna use a red dot sight, i would also recommend what henchsman posted the rs ak mount, this mount has some great reviews. if your looking for something that would accomodate a scope or reddot, like wnycollector suggested the belarus bpo2 make sure its the low mount. i have 2 one for my rpk and psl. after runnin them for a while noticed the screws were loose, so put some blue loctite and no worries

How do the BP-o2 or UTG mount do with cheek weld? Is it uncomfortable when firing? I'm thinking of running an Ultimak but would rather the quick release mount instead.

I run my Aimpoint on a low ring on a side rail. Cheek weld isn't bad, the offset isn't too large, and I can still use the irons in a emergency.

I'm shooting with that setup at our local rifle match at about 7:00 minutes into the video:

ByAnyMeans, from my experience, the BP-02 on my PSL worked well, sat VERY low, and gave a comfortable cheek weld.

BrianSmith, nice shooting. Out of curiosity, what BP-02 are you running? It looks to be sitting WAY off to the side rather than above the receiver. What's the deal?

I guess I should have stated that I was wanting something with a pic rail and I definitely want one that attaches via the rifle's side rail. I'll probably mount something like a 3x9 or so.... not sure just yet. I am keeping my options open and will certainly welcome suggestions for optics. Upon much reading and research yesterday, I went with the BP-02. The funny thing is that I had one on my PSL-54C (worked like a charm), but figured that there might be something out there that is better for me. After doing a lot of looking, I simply went with another BP-02. Here's my PSL with the BP-02:

It just a rail I got off Kalinka. The model number escapes me. It just sits straight above the optics mounting plate.

I found it. It's the PK-01V. I really like that mount and it leaves the iron sights open and easily transferred to if needed. My only issue is that it's $100.00. I am guessing you use your left eye to look through optics? If the price comes down or I can find a comparable mount for substantially less, I'll definitely get one. For now, I'll pass.... nice mount though, for sure.

Sorry, you'd be guessing wrong. I shoot right eyed when firing right handed. I do switch to left eyed when I shoot weak handed but am faster right eye/strong side.
