It seems to me, as far as a movie in which a CCW would have been great was the movie "Regarding Henry" with Harrison Ford.

Any other movies you can remember that a ccw would have served well?

I think a CCW would shorten the average movie length to about 7.2 minutes. Just enough time for the opening credits, the badguy to burst in and get his butt blown away, and the final credits.

Heck! Every movie I see where the good guy is being

a) attacked
b) hurt
c) stalked
d) all of the above and others not listed

my first thought is always, "Why the hell does this person not own a gun?" That would take care of the problem quite nicely. Maybe that's why I lead a boring life. No scumbags would do anything to me for long before Darwinism shows its affects.

the thought DOES cross one's mind - - -

Younger Son is not much of a shooter. He enjoys going out with his brother and me occasionally, but really isn't into guns. Keeps his .22 rifle at my place. Oh, well . . . .

Anyway, YS is very into movies. A while back we were discussing then-current releases. He said, "You wouldn't like 'The Safe Room,' Dad." I answered that the TV spots didn't look too interesting. He went on, "Yeah, they were showing off this tremendously expensive, specially constructed, urban defense against violence, and all I could think was, 'Where's the shotgun?' Then, the bad guys came, and I thought, 'Yep, that shotgun they forgot could have this movie end in about three minutes.'"

Best,
Johnny

Actually I liked Regarding Henry the way it was.

It had a very important message. That being, there really is nothing wrong with lawyers that cannot be fixed by shooting them. :D

the best part of " clear and present danger" was the 45 seconds in which the terrorist tried to blow up the royals. from that point everything was downhill.
it just amazed me that after all the crap jack went through he still wasnt packing.
if someone pulled up beside my wife in traffic w/ an uzi i wouldnt leave the house w/ the HK over my shoulder.

If someone pulled up to my wife with an uzi; you can bet nothing short of Mall Ninja anti 308 trama plate on my vest, and a LAW rocket in my hand when I leave the house!!

Not so.

If it was a CCW movie, they could have turned it into 30 minutes of the crime being stopped, and followed by 2 hours of the good guy being sued by the parents of the honor-student-that-was-suffering-from-a-stint-of-bad-luck-and-he-did-not-deserve-to-get-killed.

In the book "Clear and Present Danger," Jack Ryan arms himself with a Browning Hi Power after hearing about the terrorist's escape from custody, and spends time at the range immediately. I guess this didn't make for a pc story line.
