Moving a Safe HOW?

WELL. LOL I didnt do any updates because the truck was a lil late.

Bottom line is the delivery truck didnt get to my house till 7 last night. Sorry no pics it was too dark.

It was pretty un-eventful. Had me and 3 other guys, pallet jack, and a big dolly ( NO BLOW UP JOKES HERE PLEASE LOL ).

Used the pallet jack to get it down my driveway to the walkway where we had one step to go down so we put it on the dolly to make it down the step down the walkway and up one step into the house.

Once in the house set it down on a piece of carpet and a large blanket on the hardwood floor and it only took two people from there to slide it down the hall on the hardwood into the bedroom. Once in the bedroom and off the piece of carpet and blanket, I was able to slide it around myself and put it into place.

SO all in all pretty un eventfull once the truck got to my house.

BUT WOW it sure looks nice.

Yes it is being bolted down and it will be built in so that it will take heavy equipment to get it out. The safe will be staying when I move LOL.

I have a 400 pound safe coming early Jan when I move into my apartment. given the responses here so far I'm assuming I should be able to get in the first floor apartment with no trouble with just one or two friends.

Only up until about age 30. After that, it takes to long to heal

I guess they don't build 'em like they used to. My grandfather was chopping down trees and busting boulders into his middle seventies and still would be if his heart weren't bad. :neener:

If you and a friend possess at least one working brain between the two of ye, a dolly, and ain't wimpy, you can move that no problem.

At least you didn't have to cut a doorway out to get it in the room it "had" to go into.

I bought a 1250 lb cannon safe, had it dropped at the door (big mistake) by the moving company, then had to call the people that I bought it from to come and help me get it in the house, Not a big problem but I have a 150 gal salt water tank right in my front door, took a little time and patience but we got it in the house. My wife was PISSED when she came home and found it in the living room since it would not go in the room since the doorway was too narrow.

It took me almost 2 weeks of "convincing" before she agreed to let me "enlarge" the door opening.

Once that was done I took 1/2 pvc pipe and walked it right into the room it needed to go into basically by myself with the help of my 6 yr old grand daughter (I haven't found anything this child can't figure out in less than 5 min. but that's another story).

Glad it went well.
