Moving for the summer!

Hi all, you most likely do not remember me, but I have some awesome news! I recieved the Software Development Co-Op I wanted for the summer in Providence.

Not only does this mean an awesome job opportunity, but I will also be out of Boston, and to a place with more accessable ranges (and I now have a car to use!). I don't know if anyone from around here knows of any PUBLIC ranges(ie, no member only) that does rentals in the Providence/ South Attleboro, but if you do, I would highly appreciate it.

Otherwise, I will most likely end up at the American Firearms Academy(School?).

AFA is the only one I know of locally. There is one public range in RI, only pistols, shotguns, black powder, in the Great Swamp Management Area down near URI in Kingston.
The only other areas ranges are private, most have waiting lists.

Ah, thank you! I am kind of wondering what everyone thinks of AFA, as far as pricing and service?

I don't have much other choice, but it does seem like a decent place from what Ive seen.

I don't know what AFA is, but

there is AFS in North Attleborough, right over the line and just off of Route 95 at 152. They rent a variety of pistols; if you have your own gun, bring that - including rifles and shotguns.

AFS also has simulator ranges; one uses regular ammo (videos on walls) and the other uses Simunitions and is LEO-only.

I generally shoot USPSA events at Manville.

Ah, ok, I keep screwing up the name of that one. I am actually staying with my grandmother in South Attleboro, so I may go every weekend or so.

Unfortunately, I don't have a weapon yet, and once I turn 21, Ill pick up a nice handgun.
