MPA 380 magazine comes out when firing

I just got a MPA 380 and have fired about 25 rounds of Remington HTP JHP, it's the only 380 ammo I have. About half the time, the magazine would come out, not fall out all the way but become disengaged from the gun. This would happen through out the ammo, first round, middle, last ect. I also tried not loading the mag all the way but that didn't help. When this happens, the next cartridge is however loaded.
I know I need to get more rounds through the gun. Anyone have any advice or have same thing happen? Bad magazine?

Odd that the next round is loaded.

I'd call the company.

First suspects are the magazine, mag catch and/or mag catch spring.

Have you spent some time dry-firing it? If not, do that for a few dozen times and see if it still happens. Looking at the placement of the release, I'd probably be accidentally actuating that thing myself (if I were to try running the gun right-handed; I'm a southpaw.)

Not being familiar with the MPA I had to do some research. One site said the MPA 380/32 is being discontinued?? The site " Truth about guns" said the gun was designed to prevent accidental release of the magazine, and if dry fired with out the magazine in place the hammer spring will come off. Odd that.

Thanks for the comments. I'll try dry firing like suggested before shooting next time. I'd like to give it a fair trial period before calling MPA. I'll have to examine my grip, I supppse I may be causing the release.

I know the magazine release is recessed into the grip, but its location seems guaranteed to push back into your hand under what is probably a pretty snappy recoil.

It looks like the safety would push more into the locked position when fired. It might loosen when the gun goes forward again after recoil has pushed it back. But I would call the maker anyway.

I bought some snap caps and dry fired a bunch, broke the gun down and cleaned it up. Shot the other day and the same thing is happening. I did notice that this time, half the time when the mag comes loose, the next round is not getting chambered. Looks like I'll be called Master Piece Arms.
