MTM Case-Gards $0.88 at Academy

Well I was at Academy today as they were changing tags, and all the MTM Case Gard ammo cases dropped to $0.88 each. I bought about 40 cases in a mix of calibers, though mainly all the Rifle boxes.

I use MTM 100 round ammo cases in all calibers for my test loading/range practice purposes and they are great!
I use different colors for each caliber for easy identification at the range.

Grab 5-10 and you got 500-1000 rounds all sorted by calibers/colors.

They are $1.50-$2.99 at my Academy as of last Saturday. Maybe I need to check again.

I've got three stores within 30 minutes of me, and all of them had them at $0.88. Round Rock, Temple, Killeen

Oh Boy: Slip Top Pistol for me

I prefer the slip tops for pistol as you don't have to fight the hinged top when reaching for more rounds.

I put the reload label on the bottom and store them upside down.
That way you don't drop ammo when you pick one up.

Also, at the range, with the slip top placed open part up, the partioned bottom can be put in the top at an angle for better ammo access.

How many times have you tried to push a hinged cover back to get ammo and have it tip over:banghead:.

With the slip top, getting ammo is simple without putting the handgun down to fight with that hinged top.

Officially no more to be had in AR and TN. On vacation coming through and stopped at some on the way home. NONE LEFT. I hope they found some good homes... I did however buy wolf match ammo at a gander for $3 a box so not all a waste.

I ended up with about 50 boxes. thANKS, no more digging in the trash cans at the range!

I am going to need to add an addition to my reloading room just for the boxes.....On the bright side I freed up a lot of ammo cans, that were filled with bulk reloaded 9mm, .223, 7.62x39, and 45acp.

MTM cases are on clearance because they will no longer carry them. They will carry Plano cases instead.
