was looking to step up the training a bit with something different. have taken the basics as well as a great 2 day pers def/ccw class but looking to step it up to an intermediate course...saw that gunsite offers something once a month (inermediate pistol) was looking for recommendations on that or any other class. I split my time between SE pA and western CO but dont mind travelling if the class is highly recommended

www.argivedefense.com is offering center axis relock training on 3/29 and 3/30. It will be just South of Allentown.

I took it in January, I'm taking it again. It certainly isn't a beginner's course, but if you're looking for something beyond standing on an x and sending round after round downrange without any context, this will really help.

I will leave Center Axis Relock to another thread.

But I highly recommend Gunsite. You won't get much high speed stuff until much later in the program with Gunsite, but you will get the basics down pat. All the high speed stuff is useless if you can't get the gun out of the holster, and hit the target.

The only thing negative I have to say about Gunsite is that they are a weaver school, if you shoot weaver it's perfect for you, but if you shoot isosceles you may have a hard time fitting in.

Other good schools to consider is the Sig Arms Academy, Tactical Response, and Options for Personal Security.

PM me your address and I'll send you the last newsletter for West Shore Sportsmen's in Lewisberry. We have roughly 10 weekends throughout the year where we see professional trainers come out and offers classes.

Tom Givens from Rangemaster in Memphis was due out next month, but had to cancel. Not enough students signed up to make it cost effective for the trip.

Insights Training from Washington state will be out this way at least 5 times this year.

Then there's always our monthly Study Group and the annual NTI. I'm sure with all these activites here something will perk your interest.

Will two 2 day classes back-to-back work for you? That's 4 days and it's close to your home so travel costs should be lower.

Again, 4 days back-to-back.
