I'm in Muskegon for three weeks for work related training. Is there anything firearm related to do here? Was curious if there might be a range that does rentals, or something similar.

thanks in advance if you have any suggestions.

Barry

One of my friends from work is from Muskegon. He's says its very boring and you'll be happy as soon it recedes in the distance.
It can't be that bad.I'm sure you'll find some fine fishing in the area if you are so inclined.

Not far from Muskegon is Grand Rapids if you head over that way check out Silver Bullet Firearms. They do have rentals available for handguns and rifles. Or if you happen to come over to the Big Rapids area send me a PM and I will be more than happy to take you to the range with one of my buddies.

holy crap, I was born and raised in Muskegon!

You wont find alot of firearm specific business, save for a few decent gun shops in the outlying areas. Drive out Apple Avenue to Wolf lake for the biggest store... the name escapes me but the building clearly says "guns" on the exterior.

most of the few gun shops in muskegon are the ramshackle type that when you walk through the front door, you end up on the back porch. Small and kinda grimey at times.

However after a few nights in muskegon the wailing sirens, typically 3 a night, of the ambulance and police will lull you into a dreary sleep.

highorder,

That store which was a combination hardware store, no longer sells firearms as of last year.

Gary's guns on apple is pretty decent.

Wow!

Hey There:
The range in GR is an indoor range and they do rent guns. (Silver Bullet)
I have never shot there but some freinds have.

Sans< That really was not called for at all.

Roz, that hardware store place. they havent sold guns since about 2006. They claimed they were put out of business because the state wanted to much paperwork as far as following ATF gun regulations concerning "straw" purchases.
In actuality they were unable to get their FFL renewed.

They DID have some decent handguns on the rack. Still have one of the first Beretta NEOS on the shelf.

June 14th is an ACTS match day. It's about 2 hrs from Muskegon, but well worth the drive. I drive 2 1/2 hrs one way, every month. Great group of guys, and THR's very own Barb. If you do plan on coming out, but are short on any gear/guns, PM me, and we'll get you set up with some loaners.
