Several days ago, I recall seeing a post about favorite books featuring uncanny gun-related writing. Well, let me tell you, I have come across a true gem of a book!
The book is called PUMA, and is written by Ted L. Gragg. Ted is the owner/operator of our only local shooting range, and a friend od the family since before I was born. He knows hunting and firearms like the back of his hand, and is a suprisingly articulate and captivating author.
The book is about the SC DNR's (Dept. of Natural Resources) chase of a local feline predator who has been ambushing and killing unsuspecting human prey. It is wrought with suspense, and is while it is a work of fiction, it reads like something that truly did happen. For any eastern South Carolina residents, especially hunters, you will immediately recognize the roads and woods that this takes place in.
It has volumes of firearm-related writing in it. I highly suggest you read it. It was written by a good man, a lifetime NRA member, and excellent author. Drop Ted a line at the range at 843-236-4344, or at www.MBISR.com. I don't know how much he's charging for them, I paid $19 for mine, and it was worth every penny. In case you are wondering, I have no stake in this whatsoever. I just feel like plugging a good book written by a fellow gun enthusiast.
