I am looking for a muzzle brake for my semi-auto .308 that would be compatible with a silencer should I ever decide to go that route. I have seen this offered by AAC, but I only see flash hiders, not brakes that are compatable. Does anyone know of an AAC brake not flash hider that will work with a silencer? Other brands of brakes and silencers are on the table too.
    Thanks!

You have to decide what suppressor platform you want before you buy the appropriate mount. Mine is YHM, AAC was mentioned, and Gemtec just to name a few.

I did a lot of research on these and learned that the brakes can wear out rather quickly, but it was much worse on SBR AR's (however, this protects the blast baffle, but that is inconel, so I doubt it wears much). I have the Blackouts on three rifles, there is NO flash, even in the dark (maybe a quick flash if you are standing in the front, but I'm not that brave). Amazing. The Brakeout works pretty well too, I got it by mistake, my wife went to pick up a flash hider and they gave her that. I figured I'd try it, and I like it. It kills more flash than a regular flash hider AND reduces the recoil some. They have good customer service too, they sent me the wrong part (what is it with all the wrong parts!?) and told me to keep it while they sent the right one. Worked out well, didn't have to buy it later (I had planned on it). AAC makes good stuff, pricey but good. I use these on 6.5Grendel, 7.62, 5.56, and soon, .300BLK.

Only problem is that they ship by UPS only and it takes them ten days. Then they drop the package on the ground by the gate in the rainy woods --I'm lucky I even saw it. Thanks UPS.

Strykervet; how much recoil does the brake take off? what gun do you have it on? I am interested in a brake as opposed to a flash hider because it is going on a 308win AK that jumps quite a bit. Any info on brakes it appreciated.

Sucks that happened with UPS. I actually have had 100% awesome service with UPS. In fact, if my local UPS driver sees my pickup in town, he will put my package in the truck for me! More than once when he has seen one of my relatives in town and sent a package home with them as they live near me. (Yes I do live in Boondocks USA;) ) I LOVE UPS! :D
